1. Introduction
BlockNine Wallet (“BlockNine,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a non-custodial, privacy-centric cryptocurrency wallet built for individuals who prioritize digital autonomy. We do not collect personal data, track activity, or impose identification requirements. Your assets, keys, and information remain entirely in your control. We are designed with privacy at the core, ensuring your digital footprint stays minimal and anonymous.
By using BlockNine Wallet, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. We recommend reading this document carefully to understand how our zero-data approach benefits your security and rights.
2. Our Zero Data Collection Policy
At BlockNine, privacy is not a setting—it’s our foundation. We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) or behavioral data. Your use stays with you, always.
We do not collect: • Your name, phone number, email (unless voluntarily provided), or IP address • Wallet metadata like transaction history, token balances, and contact lists • Device details like IMEI, MAC address, model, OS version, and GPS location • Behavioral analytics or identifiers through third-party trackers or cookies
We do not use: • Google Analytics • Facebook SDK or advertising pixels • Third-party behavioral analytics tools
Transparent, user-controlled exceptions: • Public Blockchain Data: Wallet addresses, transactions, NFTs—visible on-chain by design, but never logged, associated, or processed by us. • Local Preferences: Stored only on your device (e.g., language, interface settings). • Crash Reports: Optional, anonymized reports to improve app performance—entirely consent-based.
3. Optional Information You May Provide
BlockNine remains private by default, but users may choose to share information to enable features:
• User Metadata: Alias, avatar, contact labels (stored locally). • Media Uploads: NFT images, wallet themes (locally handled). • Support Contact: Email or messages sent voluntarily (e.g., for troubleshooting). • Third-Party Sign-In: If using Google or similar services, only basic profile info is retrieved—within the permissions you approve.
All optional data is strictly limited to the scope of your consent and never sold, tracked, or linked.
4. Privacy Safeguards
A. Security & Encryption • Private Keys: Generated and stored on your device via hardware-backed secure storage. • Network Privacy: Optional Tor/I2P routing masks IP addresses. • zk-SNARK Support: Enables zero-knowledge transactions for enhanced anonymity.
B. No Logs, No Profiling • We do not maintain server logs. • We don’t fingerprint, trace, or build behavioral profiles.
C. Decentralized Infrastructure • Peer-to-peer communication via Libp2p. • No central servers or single points of failure.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data. Period.
No sharing with: • Advertisers • Analytics providers • Government or law enforcement (unless legally compelled by valid court order—users will be notified where lawful)
dApp Interactions: • Permission-based; nothing is transmitted unless you explicitly approve it. • All communication remains peer-to-peer.
6. Security Practices
We follow the highest security standards to protect your privacy and control:
• End-to-End Encryption: All sensitive actions occur locally and securely. • Non-Custodial Keys: Your keys are encrypted, local, and never leave your device. • Device Protections: Biometric lock, Secure Enclave, and sandboxing. • Tamper Resistance: Open-source code, regular audits, and no backend servers.
Crash reporting, when enabled, is encrypted and anonymized. You can turn it off anytime.
7. User Controls
We believe data ownership extends to control. You can:
• Clear Local Data: Delete all wallet data from your device. • Export Wallet: Backup your wallet securely—BlockNine never sees it. • Manage Advanced Settings: ◦ Toggle Tor, zk-SNARKs, and experimental modules at your discretion. ◦ ⚠️ Disabling certain features may affect privacy or performance.
8. Legal Jurisdiction
BlockNine is based in Switzerland, a nation known for strong privacy protections.
• No Data Retention Laws: We are not obligated to collect or retain your information. • Transparency by Default: We issue public reports and operate under full disclosure.
Warrant Canary: We publish a canary to signal if we’ve received data requests. If it's not updated, consider it a red flag.
9. Open-Source @Commitment
Transparency is central to trust:
• Public Audits: All code audits are published and accessible. • Community Contributions: Open source under GPL/MIT. Anyone can verify, improve, or build upon BlockNine.
10. Privacy by Design
We implement privacy at every layer of development:
• Minimal Permissions: No access to camera, mic, contacts, or location. • Secure Defaults: Privacy settings are off until explicitly enabled. • Code Integrity: Internal/external audits ensure no regressions in privacy.
